PRESS RELEASE: The Office has ensured the continuation of discounts on the Internet and calls for people with low income and people with serious disabilities

Prague, 4 December, 2025 – The so-called special prices represent a discount of CZK 200 per month, which designated persons with disabilities or low incomes can use for calls or the Internet – both mobile and fixed, including a service package that includes at least one of the services listed above. CTU has imposed an obligation to provide special prices to entrepreneurs O2 Czech Republic a.s., T-Mobile Czech Republic a.s., Vodafone Czech Republic a.s. and PODA a.s., in such a way as to avoid interruption of the current provision of price benefits to eligible persons. The obligation will now be imposed from 1 January, 2026 to 31 December, 2028.

Persons with disabilities must present relevant documents to the selected provider (a ZTP card with the symbol indicating a person with complete or practical deafness pursuant to Section 34(3) of the Act on the Provision of Benefits to Persons with Disabilities, a ZTP/P card, or a confirmation issued by the Labour Office of the Czech Republic that a specific person is entitled to a care allowance in the degree of dependency II, III or IV). Until April 2026, persons with low incomes shall prove their eligibility by confirming that they are recipients of a living allowance (a change to a new confirmation will gradually take place in connection with the new social benefit concept).

More detailed information on who is eligible can be found here.

To raise awareness of this price advantage, CTU prepared a TV spot, which was broadcasted by Czech Television. An extended version of the spot is available here (in Czech only).
