CALL for comments on the on the intention to ensure the provision of universal services under the Postal Services Act for the period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2029

CTU conducted a review in the area of postal services pursuant to Section 37(4) of the Postal Services Act. On the basis of the results of this review, CTU has prepared an intention not to impose an obligation to provide these universal services for the period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2029:

  • Delivery of postal items up to 2 kg at national level for postal items which are up to the metric of 35,3 x 25 x 2 cm and up to 1 kg of weight;
  • Delivery of postal parcels up to 10 kg at national level;
  • Delivery of printed matter bag
  • Foreign universal postal service for printed matter bags

 

CTU intends to continue to impose the provision of other universal services, which are included in the postal licence of the current holder, Česká pošta s.p., as an obligation in accordance with Section 3(2) of Postal Services Act, to ensure their permanent availability through a network of establishments in the whole territory of the Czech Republic in the specified quality, at affordable prices, every working day and in a manner that complies with the requirements for the official delivery of documents pursuant to a special legal regulation.
