Monitoring report 04/2026: Better signal on trains; AI workshop; Annual report on the coordinator’s activities under the DSA

Prague, 23. 04. 2026 – In the April Monitoring report, we devote most of our attention to the subsidy call for improving signal on trains, which has passed an important milestone – the completion of physical implementation. Passengers can already benefit from a better signal, the next steps are just administrative. We also inform about a workshop dedicated to AI. The annual report on the coordinator’s activities under the DSA is also given its space.

Better signal on trains

At the end of March 2026, the physical implementation of projects supported by the subsidy call ‘Technical devices for 5G in railway coaches’, which is administered by the Czech Telecommunication Office, was completed. The call focused on improving the availability of mobile signal inside passenger rail coaches, in particular on the lines included in the European transport network TEN-T. Its main objective, which was fulfilled, was to increase the quality of mobile voice and data services for passengers during their journey, thus contributing to higher comfort and better connectivity on the main rail corridors. The AI workshop was a success

On Thursday 9 April, the second workshop in the field of artificial intelligence took place in the CTU premises, specifically focusing on education and practical impacts of regulation. The workshop focused on raising awareness about AI regulation. With this workshop, CTU builds on existing cooperation activities, which are currently a key pillar of AI supervision activities. DSA Annual Report

In March, the Czech Telecommunication Office published on its website The Annual Report summarising the key activities of CTU as the designated Digital Services Coordinator under the DSA for 2025. Although no law was adopted in the Czech Republic in 2025 entrusting the Office with the full powers of the Digital Services Coordinator, CTU engaged in a number of activities.
