Analysis of the usage of the 26 GHz band

The Office publishes below an analysis of the use of the 24.25-26.5 GHz band. This analysis primarily deals with the current and future use of the 24.25-26.5 GHz frequency band in the Czech Republic from the perspective of the possibility of its gradual release from existing point-to-point fixed links and its future use for IMT/5G services, including private networks (MPN) and fixed wireless access (FWA) services (P2MP). The analysis is based on detailed CTU data as of October 2025, a questionnaire survey and face-to-face interviews with key users of the band who together operated around 98 % of all point-to-point fixed links in the band concerned at the time of the analysis. In conclusion, the analysis, based on the examination conducted, recommends a gradual, predictable and, as far as possible, coordinated transition by the CTU to a new use of the band in question, which minimizes regulatory and economic risks and respects existing investments.
