CALL for comments on the draft Radio Spectrum Management Strategy

CTU is presenting a draft Radio Spectrum Management Strategy, which focuses on defining the pillars of long-term sustainable spectrum management, defines visions for spectrum management and, last but not least, lists the tools that will enable the fulfilment of the defined strategic priorities and visions. CTU thus defines and lists individual measures that can be applied both across the spectrum management and targeted at specific frequency bands, services or applications.

The purpose of the Strategy is thus to inform the stakeholders, in relation to the current state of development of new technologies and electronic communications services, about the objectives set out to ensure the efficient use of radio frequencies, further development of competition, development of public networks, private networks and industrial applications using radio frequencies in various sectors of the economy and, last but not least, for the use of radio frequencies in the research, public protection or for the purposes of use by both undertakings and citizens.  The Strategy also contains some of the prerequisites necessary to achieve these objectives.

NOTICE: commenting on the draft is not subject to the standard public consultation under Section 130 of the Electronic Communications Act, but CTU considers it important to allow the professional public and the electronic communications sector in particular to express their views and comments with suggestions for modifications to the document.  Therefore, CTU proceeded to this form of communication with the stakeholders.

The intention of CTU is to get feedback on the views, opinions and recommendations of the professional public, in particular from radio spectrum users, through the consultation/commenting on the draft Strategy. In this context, CTU would also like to point out that the formal structure of the document itself may be modified in the next version (after settlement of the comments received).

Comments can be submitted until 11 November 2024 at the latest. CTU will then organise a workshop to evaluate the submissions and comments received. CTU will publish details of the workshop on its website in advance.
